FIA Certification Course ( FIA / CAT )

The Certified Accounting Technician (CAT) qualification, also known as Foundation in Accountancy (FIA), is an excellent starting point for those new to accounting and finance. It is awarded upon the completion of 9 exams, which include various awards, certificates, and a diploma. Therefore, CAT/FIA offers a robust foundation for anyone looking to build a career in finance, even without prior formal qualifications.

Qualification Pathway

Students who complete all nine exams, including two specialist options in Foundations in Taxation, Financial Management, or Audit, along with the Foundations in Professionalism module and a year of work experience, will earn the CAT/FIA qualification.

After finishing the first seven core exams, students can either:

  1. Continue their CAT/FIA pathway to achieve the qualification.
  2. Transfer to the ACCA qualification and start at F4 of the fundamentals level.

Moreover, students completing the first three exams are eligible for exemptions. To achieve any foundation-level award, completing the Foundations in Professionalism interactive module is mandatory.
