One of the distinctive contributions made by Bangalore University is by signing a Memorandum of Understanding between Bangalore University and Association of Chartered Certified Accountants – UK (ACCA) wherein all the students pursuing Bachelor of Commerce under the University can pursue ACCA course on an integrated manner.

The MOU signed between ACCA and Bangalore University is an approach towards introducing an internationally recognized professional qualification into the formal academic education system of B.Com students of Bangalore University.
As per the MOU the students taking up Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) under any of the colleges affiliated to any three of the Bangalore University colleges shall be granted a 6 paper exemption out of a total of 13 papers exam for the ACCA course. In other words, a student pursuing B.Com under Bangalore University needs to write only 7 exams to get an internationally acclaimed professional degree of ACCA while pursuing B.Com.
About the Author: The best part about this program is that the registration of the student is valid for a period of 10 years. However, the ACCA program requires a yearly annual subscription to be paid, which shall be waived only for the first year to the student post which the student will have to pay the annual subscription fees of GBP 112 per year.
The papers which are exempt are AB, FA, MA, LW, PM, and TX and the balance other 7 paper exams must be written. The students should start their studies towards ACCA in the first year of their B.Com itself and prepare target to finish a minimum of 3 exams by end of 5th Semester of B.Com to attain the Advanced Diploma Certificate by completing the fundamental module.
The final professional module of ACCA students should target to do it along with B. Com or maximum within one year from the completion of B.Com.
There is a considerable about of financial savings for a student doing ACCA along with B com under the Bangalore University MOU, as the student will save the exam fees of almost 6 exams wherein the amount is almost Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 65,000 in total. In addition, one year of annual subscription waiver also shall be made available which is another Rs. 11,000. So overall a student shall get a fee waiver of a considerable Rs. 75,000 at a minimum by taking up ACCA under the Bangalore University MOU instead of doing it directly.
