Duration of CMA after CA:
A total period of 6 months to 1.5 years is required for CMA course for CA professionals.
Exemptions for CA qualified:
No exemption is given to CA either in the Exam pattern or the Training. Even if you have cleared your article ship in the ICAI you still need to take training for CMA. So there is no exemption to CMA after clearing CA or CA foundation.
Is it beneficial to do a CMA after a CA?
It’s good to have an additional degree along with CA. You can comfortably do CMA after CA. No need to wait for the completion of CA, you can start CMA certification course in between & save your time.
Salary for CMA/ CA
The company will hire a person either for the role of a CA or for the role of CMA. So don’t expect any extra privilege on having two degrees. But having two lateral degrees will make a person more flexible in handling both jobs.
Moreover, the expected salary varies on the company where the concerned person is an employee. With age, only individual brilliance will come into play, not the degrees.

CA / CMAs earn an average of ₹25 lakhs, mostly ranging from ₹25 lakhs per year. The top 10% of employees earn more than ₹25 lakhs per year.
Are CA and CMA a good combination?
Additional qualification is always better than only one qualification. Students can shift from one course to another and can easily manage the course. If an interviewer needs to select either a CA or a CA with CMA, obviously he would be preferring the CA with CMA because both the courses are complementary and supplementary to each other.
Does CMA have scope in the future?
This is because a CMA is primarily required in large production or services companies. However, an experienced CMA has the potential to earn better than other CAs.
